The Hanafi (Arabic: حنفي) school is the oldest of the four schools of thought (Madhhabs) or jurisprudence (Fiqh) within Sunni Islam. The Hanafi madhhab is named after its founder, Imaam Abu Hanifa an-Nu‘man ibn Thābit.
